The use of recycled slate provides a distinct foundation, with its inherited marks offering a rich, organic starting point. I’m drawn to unexpected material pairings, and in this work, two layers of stitching in the circular pattern creates a bold contrast. The overlapping layers of circles across the surface introduce further contradictions, challenging traditional boundaries between materials.
