Circles Multi
The overlapping layers of circles across the slate introduce further contradictions, challenging traditional boundaries between materials.

Details
This piece explores slate as a durable yet malleable material that can be delicately drilled into. The use of recycled slate provides a distinct foundation, with its inherited marks offering a rich, organic starting point. I’m drawn to unexpected material pairings, and in this work, two layers of stitching in the circular pattern creates a bold contrast.
Dimensions
31cm x 46.5cm
Original Art
Recycled slate, Mercerised cotton, drilled and stitched, raised layer.
Material/: Each piece of slate is the sole version of itself. I hand make each quilt and any variations in stitching are part of the intended aesthetic. Ink/: Each piece of ink work is unique & original - it is not a print and is the only version. Cloth/: I dye each piece individually, creating one of a kind pieces and striving to use ethically sourced natural fibres. I sign all pieces.
