Going Round in Circles|Series 1

ink Work Andi Walker · Photography Jac Callaghan

Ink is at the heart of this work layered, fluid, and repetitive. Each mark circles back on itself, a gesture of return and release. Going Round in Circles features a highly structured approach: every circle sits on a visible grid, anchoring the organic flow of ink within a quiet order.

Using simple, low-tech tools, I explore how ink resists control. No two marks are the same, yet they build into rhythms that feel bodily, habitual, meditative. These forms began on paper but soon moved onto garments and cloth. Ink seeps, softens, and stains; transforming surface into story. This series is a practice of repetition - not for perfection, but for process. A way of marking time, tracing memory, and letting the body speak.
